Important Fitment Information

RANG-388 is designed to suit Mazda BT-50 UN & Ford Ranger PJ, PK 2006-2011. Confirm the vehicle model, year range, drivetrain, suspension configuration and accessory load before ordering or installation.

  • This lift kit will increase your front ride height by either 35mm - 55mm and the rear 35mm - 70mm. The varying degree in change is due to factory vehicle ride heights and weights carried. To get the correct height a HD torsion bar upgrade is required.
  • Matching spring rates to your vehicle's weight and constant load is critical to performance. If you are unsure of your rear load or the correct spring rate, contact Fulcrum Suspensions before ordering.

After you have purchased this lift kit, one of our suspension experts will contact you to confirm your order details, intended vehicle use, permanent accessory load and vehicle specifications. This helps ensure the supplied suspension package is appropriate for your vehicle.

Why can’t I reuse my U-bolts?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions when discussing leaf springs and related components. You can read this page here to get the answer. Please note Fulcrum Suspensions, where applicable, will always provide you with the correct U-bolt.

Springs & Lift Heights

The springs create the lift, so selecting the correct front and rear spring rates is essential for achieving a level stance, comfortable ride and reliable suspension performance. While the kit title specifies a lift height, the final front and rear height increase will depend on your vehicle’s permanent accessories, constant load and intended use.

After you place your order, a Fulcrum Suspensions specialist will contact you before processing it. We will confirm your vehicle details, accessories, regular load, towing requirements and driving conditions to ensure the correct springs are supplied.

A constant load is any weight permanently fitted to or carried in the vehicle, such as bull bars, winches, bash plates, batteries, drawers, canopies, tools and recovery equipment. Engine type and other vehicle specifications can also affect spring selection. Where possible, install all permanent accessories before fitting your lift kit so the suspension can be matched correctly from the outset.

The spring rating should closely match the vehicle’s actual constant load. For example, a vehicle carrying approximately 250kg permanently should use a spring designed for that load range.

Springs rated below the vehicle’s constant load may become overloaded, causing sagging or premature failure. This can also occur when towing, as caravan, boat or trailer ball weight adds load to the rear suspension.

Springs rated substantially above the actual load can produce an excessively firm ride and may contribute to issues such as shock absorber top-out or coil spring trapping. The front and rear springs must also be correctly matched, as an unsuitable spring rate at either end can leave the vehicle sitting nose-high or nose-low.

For occasional additional loads or towing, an airbag helper kit may be recommended. Airbags support the springs when carrying temporary loads but do not replace correctly rated springs and are not designed to carry the vehicle’s load on their own.

There is no need to determine every specification yourself. Our suspension specialists will review your requirements after purchase and confirm the most suitable configuration for your vehicle.
